Create a MacOS Majove thumb drive

Yesterday, Apple announced MacOS Majove at WWDC.

Here is how you can create a bootable MacOS Majove thumb drive, great for clean install or multiple installations.

  1. You need a thumb drive that is 8GB or above.
  2. A working developers copy of MacOS Majove.
  3. Working knowledge of terminal.

Clear all the data from the thumb drive as this process will format and wipe existing data before proceding into installation process.

Open Terminal and run the following command. (Change: The The\ ThumbDrive/ which actual device name).

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 10.14\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/The\ ThumbDrive/ /Applications/Install\ macOS\ 10.14\ Beta.app--nointeraction

In a few seconds this should ask you for entering your password, after entering your password the createinstallmedia will proceed to writing data on the thumb drive.

This process is not reversible.

That's all folks.
