First, create a directory, where we will store the cloned source code and compile it.

Get Git and Development Tools

Debian/Ubuntu

sudo apt-get install git build-essential

Fedora

sudo dnf install git
sudo dnf -y groupinstall "Development Tools"

CentOS

sudo yum install git
sudo yum -y groupinstall "Development Tools"
mkdir ~/blender-git

Set blender-git as the current directory

cd ~/blender-git

Cloning blender2.8 branch to the set directory from git.blender.org

Playblast in Blender
Final render [/tag/animation/] can be time-consuming and be taxing on the hardware, It is not recommended when you have to show mechanics or need a much quicker or instant render. An alternative to Final Render is Viewport render also known as Playblast [https://darryldias.me/2017/what-is-a-playblast/…

Update: This article was written when Blender 2.8 was under development and the repository structure has changed below is the updated information.

This is the current and updated command
git clone https://git.blender.org/blender.git -b blender2.8
This is the original (old) command
cd blender
git submodule update --init --recursive
git submodule foreach git checkout master
git submodule foreach git pull --rebase origin master

Install all the required dependencies to compile Blender.

This should take some time, the processing speed depends on your hardware specification.
