Does Maya have autosave?

Yes, Auto save is an internal feature in Maya.

It does an incremental save after a certain amount of time based on time specified in the System Preference.

Auto save is not enabled by default.

In order to make best use of this plugin I would recommend using it with a project and not with an individual Maya file, because autosave function saves the incremental files in under autosave directory in the project set.
