**Linux Kernel 3.8.4** brings various changes and bug fixes, you can have a look at them [here](http://goo.gl/KYRTb). As usual, we will upgrade to this new kernel using a simple bash script, but the kernel files can be downloaded from [here](http://goo.gl/eBHdh).

  • **    ARM: davinci: edma: fix dmaengine induced null pointer dereference on da830**

  • **    ARM: w1-gpio: fix erroneous gpio requests**

  • **    powerpc: Fix cputable entry for 970MP rev 1.0**

Linux Kernel 3.8.4 Installation (Main)

Enter these commands from the terminal under Ubuntu/Linux Mint :

cd /tmp

wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47950494/upubuntu.com/kernel-3.8.4 -O kernel-3.8.4

chmod +x kernel-3.8.4

sudo sh kernel-3.8.4

sudo reboot

Removing  Linux Kernel 3.8.4 (Uninstall)

To remove kernel 3.8.4 from your system, enter this command:

sudo apt-get purge linux-image-3.8.4*
